Creating and editing a new sound-event
Previous Top Next |
| · | You can edit the name of the selected sound-event in the "Name" field.
| · | To assign a key to this sound-event, click on the "Key" field. Then enter and confirm the key you wish to use. Please note that some keys are not available (q.v. Changing the mode and Defined control keys). To remove a key assignment, please click the "Remove key assignment" button. When the assignment is removed, the sound-event can no longer be started by a keystroke.
| · | After defining a key you may set the "Hotkey" Flag. This means that the sound-event can always be started by pressing the defined key no matter which mode is currently selected (q.v. What is a mode?).
| · | If you do not want the sound-event to start immediately, you can adjust the amount of time (entered in miliseconds) before the event starts using the "Delay (Start)" option.
| · | (For experts:) There are two types of sound-events. The first one is ended by a keystroke ("end at keystroke"), the second one has a "duration" (q.v. Starting and stopping sound-events). For the second type, you can enter a duration yourself (in milliseconds after the start of the sound-event) by clicking on the "manual" button, or simply play the sound-event autonomously until all sound-effects have been played (click on the "auto" button). When all sound-effects have ended, the sound-event ends automatically.
| · | If you want to start a sound-event, but do not wish to shock your players with loud effects or scenarios, you can set a "Fade-In" time. This sound-event's sound-effects will reach full volume after the pre-determined amount of time (in milliseconds).
| · | (For experts:) If you do not want the sound-effects of a sound-event to end abruptly, you can determine a fade out duration in the "Fade-Out" field. Before the sound-event ends (because of a key press), it softly fades out in the determined amount of time. Sound-events with an automatic duration can not fade-out!
| · | With the throttles "Predefine sound-effect volume" and "Predefine media volume" you can define a specific volume level that will be set automatically when the sound-event is started (q.v. Main window displays).
| · | When the option "Stop other sound-events when starting this one" is activated, all other sound-events are automatically stopped when this sound-event is activated.
| · | You have three options to actually allocate music and sounds in your sound-event. These can be used in any combination. You can choose CD playlists ("CD playlist..." button), MP3/WAV/MIDI playlists ("File playlist..." button), and sound-banks ("Sound-banks..." button) (q.v. Edit CD playlist, Edit file playlist and About sound-banks and what they're capable of...).
